Nvidia is discussing a larger investment in Reflection AI or a possible acquisition, the Financial Times reported on October 10, citing people familiar with the matter. Reuters said it could not independently confirm the report.
The talks are preliminary. One possibility is an arrangement involving staff recruitment and technology licensing rather than a full takeover. Such a structure could avoid a prolonged regulatory review, according to the FT.
An agreement could emerge in the coming weeks, but negotiations could also end without a deal. Neither company immediately responded to Reuters’ requests for comment.
Nvidia already backs Reflection, with the FT reporting an $800 million investment. Founded in 2024 by former DeepMind researchers Misha Laskin and Ioannis Antonoglou, the startup develops software-development automation tools.
Reflection launched its open-weight Beam model earlier in the week, targeting coding and agent tasks. Its chief executive said in April that the company was seeking new funding at a $25 billion pre-money valuation.
